Natural remedies for headaches
... and other aches

So, what's aching? Your head? Natural remedies for headaches are at your disposal. Is it a migraine or other type of headache?

My boss is a headache

We use or hear phrases such as the above every day.

We actually do not feel the painful sensation of a headache when we say these things.

But we very well know the meaning.

Your boss (or mother-in-law... or put a name of choice here) may be a source of stress, aggravation, anger and all kinds of negative emotions, including tension.
Prolonged overwork, emotional strain or lack of sleep.

All these factors can be controlled to a certain extent (with the exception for mother-in-law, of course).Natural remedies for headaches will help you to address at least some underlying issues.

Tension headache

We all experience this from time to time. It results from tightening of muscles of the face, scalp and neck. Blood supply to them gets disturbed, nerves get pinched. The pain starts usually on the back of the head. Then it spreads all over.

This is a typical "nervous headache" or "tension headache". Migraines are worse and different. If you suffer from migraine headaches, you know what I mean.

Good news: Natural remedies for headaches are often successfully employed in therapy to cure headaches.

How is a migraine headache different?

Migraine headache comes with a little warning or none at all. It's much stronger. The dull or sharp pain literally pounds sharply in your head.

It is typically localized on the same side of the head.

Light and sounds hurt you. You may feel nauseated, fatigued. More severe cases involve vomiting. You taste and smell is altered. And yes it may last long even a couple of days.

Speaking of the mother-in-law...

Well, speaking of mine.
You see, she's never been a headache to me.
BUT she used to suffer from horrible migraines for 30 years. All of her life she worked as a teacher.
Just imagine a migraine and a full classroom.
Her migraines started some 40 years ago. They used to be manageable at the beginning.

Her migraines got worse

But with each passing year her migraine headaches intensified.
They would last one week, or longer. Her husband happens to be an MD.

He treated her with with whatever the conventional arsenal treatments were available. Motrin, propranolol, codeine.

Then as it got worse - he switched to morphine, and other narcotic analgesics. My mother-in-law nearly has become a drug addict.

Finally, she chose natural remedies for headaches

Her stubborn migraines appeared to be worsening over time despite all the drugs.

That is, until she finally decided to give natural remedies for headaches a try.

Today she is migraine-free.

In fact, she's been migraine-free for the last 10 years. Occasionally she complains of tension headache, but this is nothing to compare to her past migraine ordeal.

Natural remedies for headaches cured her migraines forever

Hopefully, forever.

She was given a very simple herbal therapy for migraines.
Fenugreek herb blended with Thyme herb + some Wood Betony.

About 3 grams of dry herbal powder in the form of capsules for 6 weeks.

Here is the remedy that made her migraines disappear. Go there, read and learn some more: Fenugreek & Thyme

Her migraines disappeared only to return about 7 months later.
Then she repeated the entire treatment course: another 6 weeks of Fenugreek & Thyme with wood betony at the same dosage.

She has had no single migraine headache ever since.

I gave her some Feverfew too

She has used also high potency feverfew, which is a dried, powdered herb sprinkled with the extract of the same herb.

Feverfew has long history of use as migraine relief.
For centuries it's been used to relieve migraines, fevers and against arthritic pain.
Clinical research (from England in particular) confirmed its usefulness.
It is one of the most effective natural remedies for headaches.

Here is my favorite concentrated Feverfew product. Enjoy the reading!

Feverfew and magnesium relieve migraine headaches.

The tone of blood vessels is enhanced by both. This fact alone makes them excellent natural remedies for headaches.
Certain inflammatory substances in the body are also inhibited by both migraine remedies.

Headaches and the Magnesium connection

Magnesium is the good news for both:

a) tension headaches

b) and migraine headaches

People with frequent headaches have been found to have low brain and tissue magnesium levels. Low magnesium levels will set a stage for migraine attacks. Therefore there is no harm in including magnesium (I choose Magnesium Complex) in you natural remedies for headaches arsenal.

I strongly recommend what my (now happy) mother-in-law used plus magnesium the the form of magnesium complex.

You will also need to watch what you are eating and drinking...
