Herbs Lowering Cholesterol

  • Hawthorn - It has been known for centuries as a treatment heart disease. It will benefit you cardiovascular system in a multitude of ways.

It has been used in preventing arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries) and helping multiple heart conditions.
Hawthorn is found in most modern cholesterol lowering formulas.

(More info about hawthorn (and garlic): herbs that lower blood pressure also... here: Hawthorn Berries (Canada) and here: Hawthorn (USA)).

  • Capsicum - is believed to increase heart action without raising blood pressure. Folk medicine credits it for preventing strokes and heart attacks.
Western Herbology classifies it as a "catalyst herb" and employs capsicum in many different herbal formulas for it increases the power of all other herbs. Capsicum is believed to carry all other herbs quickly to the part of the body where it is most needed.

  • Garlic - has served humanity from the earliest times. Western Herbology keeps garlic in high regard for many reasons. As far as cholesterol is concerned - garlic is believed to dissolve cholesterol in the bloodstream. It contains a number of vitamins and minerals, including selenium, which is closely related to vitamin E in biological activity.

  • Artichoke - contain cynarin, which appears to be supporting the lowering of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
Found in a number of proven cholesterol lowering formulas, such as Cholester Reg II (see above).

  • Green Tea - according to research and tradition it helps normalize vascular blood clotting and total cholesterol.
Among many other benefits it has also fat burning properties.
    Green tea naturally contains caffeine.
I recommend using standardized (80% polyphenols) without caffeine. 3 capsules of the extract are the equivalent of 10 cups of liquid green tea.
